Kolkata Knight Riders have announced India batsman Gautam Gambhir as captain for the team for the Indian Premier League season four starting next month. KKR officials announced Gambhir as captain and stated that he was chosen to lead the team as he is a dedicated professional with good leadership qualities.
Gautam Gambhir, who is playing for India in the World Cup, said he was looking forward to leading Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL IV. Gambhir who was bought by KKR for a record-breaking $2.4 million in the IPL auction held in Bangalore in January this year stated that he was excited and optimistic about leading KKR.
