The IPL Governing Council on Sunday send a strong message across by terminating franchise agreements with Kings XI Punjab and Rajasthan Royals and has also issued a notice to the Kochi franchise. The Kochi Franchise has been spared as of now and has been directed to resolve disputes between the owners and form a joint venture company to be allowed to compete in IPL 2011. IPL Governing Council took this strong decision at an emergency meeting held in Mumbai on Sunday.
The unanimous decision of terminating the franchise agreements of KPH Dream Cricket Private Limited (Punjab) and Jaipur IPL Cricket Private Limited (Rajasthan) was final and was based on the legal opinions obtained by BCCI in the matters.
