Charges against Modi ratified by BCCI
Suspended IPL commissioner Lalit Modi may have to face tough days ahead as the Board of Control for Cricket in India(BCCI) has taken an unanimous decision to ratify the charges against him. BCCI which had convened a special governing body meeting today at Mumbai have decided to forward the case against Modi will be handled by its disciplinary committee. BCCI governing body meeting also decided that Union Minister of State and Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association president Jyotiraditya Scindia will take the place of BCCI president Shashank Manohar in the committee as Manohar had decided to absatin from all activities concerning Modi.
BCCI Governing Body meeting was convened by BCCI secretary N Srinivasan who had earlier rejected all replied that Lalit Modi had filed to the board's three show-case notices and suggested that case be forwarded by the disciplinary committee of the board.
Lalit Modi was suspended from his post of IPL commissioner almost instantly after the conclusion of the mega T20 extravaganza. He was later charged by BCCI of major financial irregularities relating to the bidding process for IPL franchises.
The committee members of BCCI who will look after the case against Modi are Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association president Jyotiraditya Scindia and Vice Presidents Arun Jaitley and Chirayu Amin.
