Pune Warriors made an impressive IPL debut as they secured a seven-wicket victory over Kings XI Punjab at their home venue -- the D Y Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on Sunday.
Pune Warriors which was led by Yuvraj Singh were impressive all throughout the game and got a convincing win with 6.5 overs to spare. Pune Warriors bowlers were impressive who only managed 112 for eight of their 20 over thanks to an impressive half century by Ryan Mclaren.
Pune had a disastrous start as Graeme Smith was dismissed to a first ball duck. A 60-run second wicket stand between Jesse Ryder (31 off 17 balls) and Mithun Manhas (35 in 32 balls). Later Robin Uthappa (22 not out in 14 balls) and Yuvraj (21 not out in 15 balls) put on an unbroken stand of 45 runs for the fourth wicket to complete a clinical performance by the Pune Team and secure a win.
