Anil Kumble has withdrawn himself from the IPL auction to be staged this weekend. The former Indian leg spinner who captained Royal Challengers Bangalore for IPL 2 and IPL 3 has cited business commitments for his withdrawal. Kumble who had a reserve price of US$400,000 for the IPL auction said, "I wish to withdraw from the players auction for IPL IV scheduled for the 8th and 9th of January 2011 in Bangalore." He stated that he had enjoyed being part of the IPL and expressed his gratitude to all concerned for the support.
