The IPL governing body was to announce two new franchises last Sunday on 7th March 2010. These two teams will compete in IPL from the next season i.e. from the 2011 season. The bidding process for the two new teams faced problems due to the tough financial clauses laid down by the IPL governing body. The entire bidding process will now be delayed by two weeks with the new dates for the two new teams of IPL slated for March 21, 2010.
The IPL governing body is expected to change a few clauses in the existing tender as bidders had strongly opposed a few clauses of the tender.
Various cities like Pune, Ahmedabad, Nagpur, Kanpur, Dharamsala, Vizag, Rajkot, Cuttack, Baroda, Kochi, Indore and Gwalior are in contention for the two IPL teams.
